Mentioning The Name Of The Person On Behalf Of Whom A Qurbani Animal Is Being Slaughtered

Question

Will our Qurbani be valid if the person slaughtering does not mention our names at the time of slaughter?

Answer

It is not necessary that the slaughterer takes the name of each of the people on behalf of whom he is making Qurbani. The slaughterer should merely have an intention in his mind that he is slaughtering on behalf of all.

However, it is better to have the name of every person on every animal that is going to be slaughtered, that this animal is for so and so, whilst that is for so and so, etc. but this is not a condition for the validity of the Qurbani.
