Question
If for some reason the imams salaah was rendered invalid and later the musallies were informed to repeat that salaah, when repeating that salaah does one make the niyyah of qadaa ?
Answer
If the Salaah became Batil (invalid), for example the Salaah broke by making a serious mistake and the Salaah is being repeated after expiry of time, then he should make the Niyyah of Qadha Salaah when repeating it.
If the Salaah became incomplete, for example by leaving out a Waajib action, then (when repeating the Salaah), he should make the Niyyah of fixing and correcting the Fardh Salaah that was left incomplete due to the omission of the Waajib act.
