Washing The Limbs Thrice In Wudhu

It is neither Mustahab nor Wajib to clean every limb thrice when performing Wudhu. Rather, it is Sunnah to wash the limbs of Wudhu which requires washing, for the second and the third time.

If a person washes the limbs which require washing, once; it will suffice and the Wudhu will be valid with the provision that no area of the limb remained dry. However, under normal circumstances, where there is no shortage of water, washing each limb the second and third time is more virtuous and carries more blessings.
