Question
Is Qurbani necessary upon a person performing Hajj, who travelled for Hajj e.g. from South Africa?
By Qurbani, I am asking about اُضحية as he would have normally done at home, and not Damm-e-Shukr.
Answer
If the Haaji is a Muqeem meaning he is going to be staying in Makkah for fifteen days or more then it will be Waajib upon him to slaughter the Udhiyyah (apart from his Damm-e-Shukr). This Udhiyyah can be carried out by himself while in Makkah, or he could designate a Wakeel to do it on his behalf back home in South Africa.
On the other hand, if he is a Musaafir, meaning that he has no intention of staying in Makkah for fifteen days or more then it will not be Waajib upon him to do the Udhiyyah.
