Question
I would like to know if a woman can fly to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia without a mahram if her husband is already in Riyadh?
Answer
It is impermissible for a mature female to travel the distance of a Shari Safar i.e. 77km without an accompanying Mahram or husband.
In fact, Shariah has placed such emphasis on this issue that even a female who has all the qualifications and financial means to perform Hajj but does not have a Mahram or husband to accompany her on the journey is not permitted to undertake this journey without her Mahram or husband.
