Question

A friend of mine is an architect.

He wants to know if it is permissible to draw plans of a shopping centre, however some of the shops will be rented to banks, non-muslim butcher and also a supermarket, they also have a big section where they will be selling alcohol.

Answer

By designing a shopping complex, the architect is not involved in any direct form of disobedience, thus it will be permissible for him to draw plans for the shopping centre.
