An Imaan Making A Short Announcement Between The Khutbah And Salaah

Question

After the Khutbah is given, is it proper for the Imaam to stand on the Mimbar and make announcements like of straightening Saffs, etc. or should he come off the Mimbar first?

Answer

It is correct for the Imaam to make a short announcement after terminating the Khutbah and before commencing Salaah, irrespective of whether he stands on the Mimbar or gets off the Mimbar, on condition that the  announcement is not too long.
