Baby Vomit on Clothing

If a baby vomits on your clothes do you just change the clothes or do you have to take a bath?

Vomit which is a mouthful or more, will be classified as impure, whether of an infant or an older person.

If the vomit comes into contact with one’s clothes or body, it would be necessary to wash the soiled area. It will not be necessary to take a bath, washing the soiled area will be sufficient. However, if the vomit was of a small quantity (less than a mouthful) then it will not be considered as impure.

Note: The mouthful of the person who has vomited will be considered. Therefore, if it is a child, consideration will be taken of the mouth of the child.
