Becoming Paak From Haidh While Travelling On An Airplane

Question

If a woman becomes paak from haidh while traveling in an airplane and Salaah time will expire, what should she do? Can she make tayammum and pray although there is sufficient water to make ghusl nearby?

Also, what if there are no stones etc with which she can make Tayammum?

Answer

In the enquired scenario, if there are no facilities to make Ghusl on the airplane or the woman does not have access to those facilities, then she will make Tayammum and perform Salaah. To make Tayammum she may even use dust that has gathered on her clothing. Since there was sufficient water present but she was prevented or constrained from using this water, she will repeat this Salaah when she is able to take Ghusl.

If there is no material with which she can make Tayammum, then without intending Salaah and without reciting anything, she will simply do the actions and postures of Salaah out of respect for the command of Salaah at that time and in resemblance to those who are fulfilling the command. When she is able to make Ghusl she will make Qadhaa of this Salaah (i.e. perform it in the normal manner later).
