Question
Would it be permissible for students to act out the parts of Sahaba Radhiallahu Anhum during Jalsas?
Answer
Such plays should be avoided wherein a student acts and portrays himself as a Sahabi.
No matter who the student may be, or how pious he may be, no one in today’s era can come close to even the lowest-ranking Sahabi (radhiallahu anhu). When a play of this nature is acted out, it can happen that due to the light-heartedness of the play, some thing may be said or done by the actor that could result in compromising the respect and reverence of the Sahaba (Radhiallahu Anhum).
Therefore, instead of a play, Bayaans or dialogues may be implemented by the students, to educate the public. For instance, in a dialogue, one student can ask the another student that what did Hadhrat Abu-Bakr (radhiallahu anhu) say with regard to a certain matter of Deen; and the other student replies by quoting what Hadhrat Abu-Bakr (radhiallahu anhu) said, without actually acting out the role of Hadhrat Abu-Bakr (Radhiallahu Anhu).
