Dirt From Earring Holes And The Validity Of Ghusl

Question

I dont wear earrings all the time. When I wear sometimes after a while a bit of dirt comes out from the hole. Does this mean that my ghusl is not valid? I do try and rub my ears well but this still happens

Answer

For the ghusl to be valid, water must reach every portion of the body (at least once, without involving undue hardship), in such a way that no portion of the body is left out . So as long as the water has passed over the ears and reached the inner part of the pierced hole, the ghusl is valid and you will not have to repeat it even if you notice afterwards, some dirt coming out from it.

يَجِبُ) أَيْ يُفْرَضُ (غَسْلُ) كُلِّ مَا يُمْكِنُ مِنْ الْبَدَنِ بِلَا حَرَجٍ مَرَّةً كَأُذُنٍ وَ (سُرَّةٍ وَشَارِبٍ وَحَاجِبٍ وَ) أَثْنَاءِ (لِحْيَةٍ) وَشَعْرِ رَأْسٍ وَلَوْ مُتَبَلِّدًا لِمَا فِي – {فَاطَّهَّرُوا} [المائدة: 6]- مِنْ الْمُبَالَغَةِ (وَفَرْجٍ خَارِجٍ) لِأَنَّهُ كَالْفَمِ لَا دَاخِلٍ؛ لِأَنَّهُ بَاطِنٌ، وَلَا تُدْخِلُ أُصْبُعَهَا فِي قُبُلِهَا بِهِ يُفْتِي. (لَا) يَجِبُ (غَسْلُ مَا فِيهِ حَرَجٌ كَعَيْنٍ) وَإِنْ اكْتَحَلَ بِكُحْلٍ نَجِسٍ (وَثُقْبٍ انْضَمَّ وَ) لَا (دَاخِلَ قُلْفَةٍ)…. قَوْلُهُ: وَثَقْبٍ انْضَمَّ) قَالَ فِي شَرْحِ الْمُنْيَةِ: وَإِنْ انْضَمَّ الثُّقْبُ بَعْدَ نَزْعِ الْقُرْطِ وَصَارَ بِحَالٍ إنْ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءُ يَدْخُلُهُ وَإِنْ غَفَلَ لَا فَلَا بُدَّ مِنْ إمْرَارِهِ وَلَا يَتَكَلَّفُ لِغَيْرِ الْإِمْرَارِ مِنْ إدْخَالِ عُودٍ وَنَحْوِهِ فَإِنَّ الْحَرَجَ مَدْفُوعٌ. اهـ  – رد المحتار ج1 ص152

وَيَجِبُ تَحْرِيكُ الْقُرْطِ وَالْخَاتَمِ الضَّيِّقَيْنِ، وَلَوْ لَمْ يَكُنْ قُرْطٌ فَدَخَلَ الْمَاءُ الثُّقْبَ عِنْدَ مُرُورِهِ أَجْزَأَهُ كَالسُّرَّةِ، وَإِلَّا أَدْخَلَهُ كَذَا فِي فَتْحِ الْقَدِيرِ وَلَا يَتَكَلَّفُ فِي إدْخَالِ شَيْءٍ سِوَى الْمَاءِ مِنْ خَشَبٍ وَنَحْوِهِ كَذَا فِي شَرْحِ الْوِقَايَةِ وَيُدْخِلُ الْقُلْفَةَ اسْتِحْبَابًا عَلَى مَا نُبَيِّنُهُ وَتَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهَا الْخَارِجَ وُجُوبًا فِي الْغُسْلِ وَسُنَّةً فِي الْوُضُوءِ كَذَا فِي الْمُحِيطِ؛ لِأَنَّهُ كَالْفَمِ وَلَا تُدْخِلُ أَصَابِعَهَا فِي قُبُلِهَا وَبِهِ يُفْتَى وَلَوْ كَانَ فِي الْإِنْسَانِ قُرْحَةٌ فَبَرَأَتْ وَارْتَفَعَ قِشْرُهَا وَأَطْرَافُ الْقُرْحَةِ مُتَّصِلَةٌ بِالْجِلْدِ إلَّا الطَّرَفَ الَّذِي كَانَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْقَيْحُ، فَإِنَّهُ يَرْتَفِعُ وَلَا يَصِلُ الْمَاءُ إلَى مَا تَحْتَ الْقِشْرَةِ أَجْزَأَهُ وُضُوءُهُ، وَفِي مَعْنَاهُ الْغُسْلُ كَذَا فِي النَّوَازِلِ لِأَبِي اللَّيْثِ وَنَقَلَهُ الْهِنْدِيُّ أَيْضًا  –البحر الرائق شرح كنز الدقائق ج1 ص49
