Dua For A Lost Item

Allah Ta’aala says in the Holy Quran Para 2 Surah Baqarah verses 156-157:

156: Who say when afflicted with calamity: “To Allah we belong and to Him is our return.”

157: They are those on who descend) blessings from Allah and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.

Thus brother, the best supplication a believer can make when afflicted by a trial or loss, is to say:

إنا لله وإنا اليه راجعون

To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return.

Be patient and steadfast, and put your trust in Allah alone. Allah will, if He Pleases, replace what you have lost with a better provision, and grant you a huge reward for your patience in the life of the Hereafter.One could also recite the following Dua:

اللَّهُمَّ رَادَّ الضَّالَّةِ وَهَادِيَ الضَّالَّةِ أَنْتَ تَهْدِي مِنَ الصَّلَالَةِ ارْدُدْ عَلَيَّ ضَالَّتِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ وَسُلْطَانِكَ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ عَطَائِكَ وَفَضْلِكَ

“O Allah, the One who returns the lost, by Your power and awe return what I have lost, for surely I have received it as Your gift and favour (boon)”. (Tabrani/ Majmau Zawaid Hadith 17106)
