Someone had land to sell in India. My aunty told the land owner that she has a buyer, but she wants a a commission on the sale. The seller agreed.
Is taking commission for finding a buyer permissible?

From your query we understand that a particular person owns land in India which he/she is willing to sell. Your aunty is prepared to find a buyer on condition that she is paid a commission for finding the buyer. The seller has agreed to the agreement.
The Shari’ee ruling with regard to the above scenario is that there is no harm in charging a commission for finding a buyer for the land. However, it is necessary that the commission is stipulated and fixed, leaving no room for any disputes in the future.
In conclusion, both parties should mutually agree upon an amount that will be charged by the agent as commission which the seller agrees to pay as well, if the property is sold.
