Following A Shafi'ee Imaam Who Does Something Unacceptable According the Hanafi Mathab

Question

If a Hamafi witnesses a Shafi’ee Imaam doing something unacceptable according to the Hanafi Mathab e.g. Masah of three strands of hair, is it permissible for the Hanafi to follow the Shafi’ee Imaam?

Answer

If the Shafi’ee Imaam makes Masah only on three strands of hair, the Salaah of a Hanafi behind such an Imaam will be invalid due to the Wudhu of the Imaam being considered invalid according to the Hanafi Madhhab.
