Leaving Makkah Mukarramah To Go Shopping

Question

With regards to being in Makkah, if a person leaves Makkah to go for shopping for a day and returns to Makkah, is it necessary to adorn Ihram and make Umrah?

Answer

If a person leaves Makkah to go shopping, he will either remain within the precincts of the Meeqaat, or he will surpass the Meeqaat boundary.

1- If he remains within the Meeqaat boundary, for example he goes from Makkah to Jeddah,  then he will not need to don the Ihraam upon re-entering Makkah.

2- If he surpasses the Meeqaat boundary, then upon re-entering Makkah he must don the Ihraam and perform Umrah or Hajj.
