Performing Sajdah Without Wudhu

Question

Does making sajdah without wudhu render a person a kaafir?

Answer

The intention of a person is what will be considered. If it was done unknowingly, obliviously or due to one being shy. For example he was performing Salaah in Jamaat and his Wudhu broke, but due to him being shy or feeling embarrassed of walking out at that moment, he continued. In this case he will not become a Kaafir.

If he performed Sajdah in such a state with the intention of mocking, belittling, ridiculing or understanding it to be trivial and insignificant, he will become a Kaafir.

Note; As long as the intention of an individual is not evident and clear, a person will not be rendered out of the fold of Islam.
