Prohibition Of Diwali And Christmas Ceremonies And Well Wishing

Question

If a Muslim wishes a Hindu Happy Diwali or Happy/Merry Christmas what is the position of his Imaan?

If a Muslim attends a fireworks ceremony on the occasion of Diwali, what is the status of his Imaan?

Answer

We are commanded by Allah to refrain from emulating the Kuffaar and to stay away from their evil.

If a Muslim attends the firework ceremony on the occasion of Diwali or he wishes’ a Hindu “Happy Diwali” or a Christian “Happy Christmas” out of respect and honoring their celebration, then he has lost his Imaan.

If he does the above without respecting and honoring their celebration, then his Imaan will be in danger and he will definitely be sinful.
