Question
Our committee in the Masjid collected some funds a year ago but now we are not sure if the funds were collected for the masjid or the Madressa. The funds are Lillah and at the moment there is a surplus of funds in the Masjid but we are struggling in the Madressa. Can we use these funds for Madressa?
Answer
The funds have to be used in accordance to the intentions and wishes of the donators. If the funds were collected for the Masjid they cannot be used for the Madrasah and vice versa. If it is to be used for other than that which the donators intended, then their permission is required.
