Question
When going to bed at night, a person wear shorts that do not cover the full satar. Would it be permissible to recite Qur’aan wearing these shorts (remember that the body is covered with a blanket/duvet?
Answer
In principle, to cover one’s Satar is necessary and applicable at all times. Therefore, it is inappropriate to recite Qur’aan while one’s Satar is uncovered; but if the Satar is covered at least with a blanket/duvet (as stated in your query), one will be is permitted to recite the Holy Qur’aan.
