Question

I take customers to the car dealers, in return they give me some money for binging the customers to their dealership. Is this permissible?

They only pay me if the customer buys the car. Can I make a deal with dealers that they will pay for every customer I bring regardless of whether they buy a car or not?

What will such transactions be referred to Islamically?

Answer

It is permissible to earn money in the manner you have explained, where the car dealer only pays you when the customers you bring in purchase a car. However, it will not be permissible for you to arrange a contract with the dealer to pay you for simply bringing in customers, regardless if they purchase a car or not.

In both scenarios, you are an agent facilitating the transaction between two parties, but the agent is only entitled to receive his pay once the transaction has been completed between both the parties, which is done with the seller selling and the customer purchasing the product
