Question
If a car was sold and one fault was not mentioned due to the seller forgetting or not knowing and after the car is sold the fault comes to mind…. what should the seller do?
Answer
The honest nature of the Muslim seller will compel him to inform the buyer of the fault. Then, if the fault is of such a nature that it reduces the value of the car, the buyer will have a right to return the car to the seller and retain the paid sum or keep the car at the same price. The buyer will not be allowed to ask for a reduction in the price.
