Removal Of Hair Below The Navel

There is a difference of opinion amongst the Ulama as to whether the hair directly below the navel has to be removed or not. Some Ulama are of the opinion that it does not have to be removed. According to them, one should only begin to remove the hair in line with the top of the pelvic bone (waist) i.e. from where the actual pubic hair growth starts.

However, other prominent Ulama such as Hadhrat Mufti Mahmood Gangohi Saheb Rahimahullah and Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi Rahimahullah are of the view that the hair directly below the navel should also be removed.

Hence, we advise the latter view be taken on the basis of precaution.
