Question
I will be going for Hajj insha-Allah. Will I be a Musafir or not, knowing that I will also depart to Mina and Muzdalifa?
Answer
According to our Darul Ifta, Makkah, Azizia and Mina, are all considered as one area. In other words, Azizia and Mina are considered as suburbs of Makkah.
Therefore a person who stays in Makkah, Azizia and Mina for a combined period of 15 days or more will not be considered as a Musaafir. Thus, such a person will not be considered as a Musaafir when he proceeds to Muzdalifah and Arafaat, due to the fact that these two places are not a Musaafir distance from Makkah.
