Question
I have a friend who owns a few video games and intends on selling them at a nearby game shop who will buy them for a third of the price. He will not just throw them away, but insists he wants to make some money out of it.
If he does this is the money halal for him to accept?
Answer
Video games are impermissible due to containing music and pictures. By selling such items, a person is assisting and in fact promoting the disobedience of Allah Ta’aala, therefore all such games should be destroyed. It will not be permissible to sell them; any monies received from the sale of such games should be given out in charity.
