Question
What is the status of a person’s Salah in Shariah if he uses a chair for Salah, when in fact he is not entitled to?
Answer
The Salaah of those people, who are able to stand, do Ruku and Sajdah, yet they sit and offer their Salaah, will not be valid. They also fall within the purview of the Aayat wherein Allah Ta’aala mentions this type of laziness to be from amongst the qualities of the hypocrites:
And when they (the hypocrites) stand for Salaah, they stand lazily, to show the people and they remember Allah only a little
