The Minimum Amount Of Qiraat To Be Recited In Salaah

Question

If an ayat is very long (e.g Surah Baqarah v.282 ) so then how much is fardh ?

And if he only reads a portion of this ayat is this completing the fardh?

Answer

Reciting three short Aayaat or one long Aayat equivalent to three short Aayaat is Waajib in Salaah.

If the Aayat is very long, like verses no. 255 (Aayatul Kursi) or 282 (Aayatul Mudaayanah) of Suratul Baqarah, then reciting 30 Huroof/letters of these long Aayaat will be sufficient. Intentionally reciting any less than this will render the Salaah invalid.
