Question
What is the position of a person who openly proclaims to have “no problem” or condones homosexuals (gays or lesbians) practising their sexual orientation?
Answer
If a person condones the act of homosexuality or proclaims that he has “no problem” with it, thereby indicating that he considers it permissible (may Allah Ta’aala forbid!), despite knowing of its prohibition being part of Deen, then such condonation or proclamation would result in Kufr.
This ruling will also apply to the person conducting a same-sex “marriage”, as doing so is also a form of condoning such an evil practice.
N.B. It should be noted that a “marriage” to the same gender is not recognized in Islam.
