When does the time for Ishraaq Salaah begin?
Answer
The Fuqahaa have stated that when the sun has risen to the extent of one or two spear’s length, then only should one engage in Salaah, whether it be Ishraaq or any other Salaah.
Fataawa Taatarkhaniyya quotes the view of Sheikh Imaam Abu Bakr Muhammad Bin Fadhl Rahimahullah who states that as long as one is able to see the roundness of the sun (whilst rising), it means that the sun is still in the rising process, thus Salaah will not be permitted. When this is no longer visible then Salaah will be permitted.
This is generally estimated to be about 15 minutes after sunrise.
