Question
Are you allowed to keep artificial flowers in the home for decorative purposes and can it be used on cakes etc for decoration?
Answer
It is permissible for one to keep artificial flowers or use them for decorating purposes, however it should be borne in mind that one should not go over the limits in doing so as is prevalent these days. This leads to being extravagant which is not permissible.
Thus within the limits it would be permissible, although keeping real flowers in the home instead of artificial would be better in the sense that they praise Allah Azza wa Jall.
