Question
Is it lawful for females studying Quraan to handle a translation of the Quraan during Haidh?
Answer
The Fuqaha have written, that it is not permissible to touch the Quraan-e-Kareem during the menstruation period, nor is it permissible to touch verses of the Quraan-e-Kareem that are inscribed on a slate or on a dirham (coin) or on a wall.
However if a copy of the Quraan-e-Kareem is held with such a cloth that is not part of the Quraan , then holding the Quraan in a state of impurity will be permissible. The same rule will apply to a translation of the Quraan-e-Majeed because it includes the Arabic Text and the translation of each Verse amounts to about the same size as the actual Arabic Verse.
