Urine Drops While In Ihraaam

Question

I intend going for Haj next year Inshallah if I get accreditation. I suffer with a weak bladder and urine drops after I go to the toilet. How must I ensure urine drops do not come onto my Ihram. Will it bepermissible to wear an underwear under the ihram and put toilet paper to absorb the urine drops?

Answer

In order to prevent urine drops from soiling your Ihraam, you may adopt certain precautionary measures, provided that they do not involved the wearing of a sewn garment. Certain jurists have allowed for the use of adult-diapers for such a purpose. Other innovative methods may also be adopted such as the tying of an old t-shirt around ones’ private region in the form of a diaper.

Although, technically the t-shirt is in itself a sewn garment, as long as it is not worn and adorned in the conventional manner for which it was sewn (e.g. upon the torso), it will be permitted.
