Wearing 9 Carat Gold Jewellery

Question

I would like to know if it is permissible for a woman to wear 9 carat gold?

If its not regarded as gold and thus not  permissible for ladies, will it then be permissible for males?

Answer

It is permissible for women to wear imitation jewellery made of any type of material even 9 carat gold. However, 9 carat gold rings are not permissible. It will only be permissible to wear a ring if the ring is either made completely from gold or silver or at least made of 12 carat gold or more (i.e. 50% or more of the content must be of gold or silver).

It is not permissible for men to wear jewellery regardless of the material from which it is made.
