When does the time of Maghrib set in?
Answer
The time of Maghrib Salaah sets in immediately after the sun sets.
عن سلمة بن الأكوع، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي المغرب إذا غربت الشمس وتوارت بالحجاب.
( الترمزي ١٦٤ ، مسلم ٢١٦/٦٣٦)
Salama b. al-Akwa’ reported that Nabi Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam used to pray the evening prayer when the sun had set and disappeared (behind the horizon).
عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: إن للصلاة أولا وآخرا … وإن أول وقت المغرب حين تغرب الشمس . . .

Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “Indeed for (the time of) Salat (there is a) beginning and an end …The beginning of the time of Maghrib is when the sun is set…
سورج غروب ہوتے ہی فورا مغرب کا وقت شروع ہو جاتا ہے ، جب بادل ہو تو کسی قدر احطیاط کر لی جائے تا کہ غروب کا یقین ہو جائے۔

As soon as the sun sets the time of Maghrib begins; when the sky is cloudy, one should adopt caution to ensure that the sun has set.
