When To Discharge Sadaqatul-Fitr

Question

In Hanafi Fataawa I have seen both opinions with regards to giving Sadaqatul Fitr early. One opinion is that Ramadhaan needs to have started, then only can you give Sadaqatul Fitr. The second opinion is that there is no time limit and you can give Sadaqtul Fitr as early as you want.

Which is the preferred view?

Answer

Although the fatwa is on that there is no time limit, it is better to wait till at least the beginning of Ramadan.
