Question
In the Haram, should a Hanafi perform the Witr Salaah behind the Imaam or individually?
If he performs it behind the Imaam, must he repeat it?
Answer
The Aimmah of the Haramain terminate the Witr Salaah after performing two Rakaats and then perform a single Rakaat. Followers of the Hanafi Mazhab do not perform a single Rakaat in Salaah, thus they should perform the Witr Salaah individually. In the case of not being able to leave the congregation to perform the Witr Salaah individually, one should repeat the Witr Salaah even though it has already been performed behind the Imaam of the Haram-Shareef.
