Question
If a person is employed by one organization, is it permissible for him to do work for another organization/company/person in his free time? The first organization he is working for did not stipulate in his contract that he is not allowed to work for anyone else.
Answer
If he is employed for work meaning that he is required to do certain amount of work by the end of the day, then it will be permissible for him to do work for another organization.
If he is employed for his time meaning he is employed from 8 to 5 (and it is not mentioned how much work he has to do, some days more and some days less, but he has to be at work for that period of time) then it will not be permissible for him to work for someone else, unless he takes permission from the employer.
