Is it permissible to call out the Adhaan without putting the hands on the ears?
Answer
Although it is permissible to give the Adhan without putting the hands on the ears, it is preferable to put them.

(و) يستحب أن (يجعل أصبعه في أذنيه) لقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم لبلال رضي الله عنه “اجعل أصبعيك في أذنيك فإنه أرفع لصوتك” (و يستحب أن يجعل أصبعيه) أي السبابتين و المراد أنملتهما وهو ليس بسنة أصلية إذ لم يكن في أذان الملك النازل من السماء و لم يشرع لأصل الإعلام بل للمبالغة فيه و إن جعل يديه على أذنيه فحن
