Question
If the hair of a woman is exposed in Salaah, is the rule of a quarter of a limb considered here as well?
Answer
If during Salaah, a quarter of any part of the body that is supposed to be covered when offering Salaah becomes exposed for the duration in which Subhaana-Rabbiyal-Aa’la can be recited three times, then Salaah will break and will have to be repeated. For example a quarter of the head, hair, stomach, back, neck, chest, calf, thigh or arms etc. If these parts became exposed before commencing Salaah (and left exposed in Salaah), then too, the Salaah will not be valid.
However if less than a quarter of the limbs became exposed knowingly or unknowingly, for the duration of the said three Tasbeehs or less, Salaah will be valid but it is sinful to do so. According to Hazrat Mufti Rasheed Ahmad Saheb Rahimahullah; “When a quarter or more of a limb is exposed intentionally during Salaah, that Salaah immediately breaks.”
Due to the importance of this act of worship, it is imperative that one carries it out according to the Sunnah of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam. Every minute detail should be meticulously followed so that one’s Salaah can be acceptable in the Court of Allah.

اگر اس صدری میں ستر کھلنے کا علم ہونے کے باوجود اس میں نماز پڑھی، یا غفلت کی وجہ سے ستر کا اہتمام نہیں کیا اور ربع عضو کھل گیا تو نماز نہیں ہوئی خواہ تھوڑی سی دیر کے لئے ستر کھلا ہو ، اگر غیر اختیاری طور پر ستر کھل گیا تو اس میں یہ تفصیل ہے کہ اگر تین سبحان ربی الاعلی کہنے کی مقدار تک ربع عضو کھلا رہا تو نماز نہیں ہو گی ، اس سے کم مقدار ہو یا وقت اس سے کم ہو تو نماز
ہو جائے گی، جو عضو کھلا ہو اس کی چوتھائی معتبر ہیں

قاعدہ یہ ہے کہ اگر سہو اربع عضو تین سبحان ربی الاعلی کہنے کی مقدار تک کھلا رہی تو نماز فاسد ہو جاتی ہے، اور قصد اربع عضو ایک لمحہ بھی چھوڑ دیا تو نماز فاسد ہو گئی ربع عضو سے کم ستر کھلنا خواہ سہوا ہو یا عمدا تین تسبیح کی مقدار ہو یا زیادہ بہر حال مفسد نہیں۔
