Question

please advice about the reading through mushaf while offering taraweeh? What should we prefer ? Either to offer taraweeh salaat with small surahs which we remember or by reading through open mushaf?

Answer

According to the Hanafi School of Fiqh (jurisprudence), reciting from the Mushaf while in Salaah will nullify the Salaah. Therefore, our advice is that the people of the locality should try their utmost to organize a Haafidh to lead the people in Taraawaaeh Salaah as it is a great Sunnah to listen to the Quraan in Taraaweeh Salaah in the month of Ramadhaan. If there is no Haafidh Aavailable, then you may read the last ten Surahs of the noble Quraan.
