Swallowing Saliva Containg Blood While Fasting

Question

I would like to enquire regarding finding blood extracts in ones saliva.

At times I tend to get a slight taste of blood in my saliva. When I spit it out then sometimes it has a tinge of redness in it  and sometimes it comes out clear. There isn’t any real reason for finding the blood meaning it just happens like that and is not confined to when I chew on something etc.

If I am fasting and I had swallowed this saliva what will the condition of my fast be?

Answer

With regards to the fast, it will break if the blood was dominant or equal to the saliva and then it was swallowed. If the saliva was dominant the fast will not break unless you could get the taste of the blood as it went down into the stomach, in which case the fast will break.

Qadha of the fast will be incumbent in all these cases where the fast broke.
