Question
If the Imaam is doing Jumuah with the fisrt Khutbah in Arabic and the second in his own language, does Jumuah take place or not?
Answer
It is Makruh Tahrimi to deliver the Jumu’ah Khutbah in any other language besides Arabic. However if this is done, the obligation of Jumu’ah Salaah will be fulfilled and it will not have to be repeated.
If the Jumu’ah Khutbah is delivered in any other language besides Arabic in your local Masjid, then go to another Masjid for Jumu’ah. If there is no other Masjid in the locality, then as a last option one will be compelled to perform Jumu’ah Salah there.
Read Mufti Taqi Usmani’s Kitaab ‘The language of the Friday Khutbah’.
This is an interpolation of the Deen of Allah Ta’ala, therefore one should not become desensitized regarding the issue.
