Question
What are the permissible times to perform qada salaah ( salaath missed from previous years)?
Answer
Salaah is act of worship that has been made obligatory upon every sane Baaligh Muslim male and female, and should be discharged at its appointed time. In the event of missing one’s Salaah, Qadha should be performed as soon as possible. It is for this reason that Shariah has permitted performance of Qadha Salaah even at such times when one is not permitted to perform any Nafl Salaah (i.e. after Asr or from the time of Subh Saabiq until just before sunrise). One may therefore perform Qadha Salaah throughout the day except at the time of Sunrise, Zawaal (midday) and sunset (this will include the time just prior to sunset when the sun turns pale and yellow).
