Turning The Head During Iqaamah

Question

During Iqamah should one turn the head to the right and left whilst saying Hayya Alas Salah and Hayya Alal Falah?

Answer

There are two views in regards to turning the head in Iqaamah. Some have stated that if the place (Masjid/Musallah) is massive then one may turn his head to the right and left whilst calling the Iqaamah, otherwise not. Turning the head towards the right and left in Adhaan is to inform the absent people of Salaah whereas this need does not exist in Iqaamah. In Iqamaah one is informing those that are present that Salaah is now commencing.
