Women In The Mens Saff

Question

In the Haram, many women pray in the men’s Saff. Will the prayer of the men be correct if they pray behind these women?

Answer

If a woman prays in the same Saff as the men, then The Salaat of the men standing directly behind, directly on the left, or directly on the right of the woman will be rendered void if the following conditions are met:

1- The Salaat is not that of a Janazah, and it comprises of ركوع and سجود .
2- They are following the same Imam in the same Salaat.
3- They are in one place without any barriers in between.
4- The Imam made Niyyat of leading the woman in her Salaat.

If there are two women in the Saff, then the Salaat of the men directly to the left and right of the women will be rendered void, as well as the Salaat of the two men directly behind them. If there are three women in the Saff, then the Salaat of the two men directly to the left and right will be rendered void, as well as the Salaat of the three men directly behind them, as well the Salaat of those who are standing behind these three men (in line with them), all the way back until the end of the rows.

*Note- If a woman stands next to a man in Salaat and he gives her an indication (without speaking)
to move away and she does not move, then her Salaat will be rendered void and the man’s Salaat will remain intact.
