Wudhu When Performing Ghusl On The Deceased


What is the status of Wudhu when performing Ghusl on a deceased? Is there a difference of opinion amongst the Hanafi jurists in h this Masala?


Wudhu is Sunnah when giving Ghusal to a deceased. We did not find any difference of opinion with regards to this Mas’ala amongst the Hanafi jurists.

ثم يوضأ وضوءه للصلاة لما روي عن النبي – صلى الله عليه وسلم – أنه قال «للاتي غسلن ابنته ابدأن بميامنها، ومواضع الوضوء منها» ؛ ولأن هذا سنة الاغتسال في حالة الحياة فكذا ( بدائع الصنائع ج ١ ص 300  دار الكتب العلمية(

إذْ يُقَالُ: إنَّ هَذَا الْوُضُوءَ سُنَّةُ الْغُسْلِ الْمَفْرُوضِ لِلْمَيِّتِ لَا تَعَلُّقَ لِكَوْنِ الْمَيِّتِ بِحَيْثُ يُصَلِّي أَوْ لَا كَمَا فِي الْمَجْنُونِ شَرْحِ الْمُنْيَةِ (رد المحتار على الدر المختار ج 2 ص 195 دار الفكر)
