Congregational Dua After Janaazah Salaah

Question

I would like to know if Congregational Dua after Janazah Salaah is allowed.

Answer

It is not permissible to make congregational Du’aa immediately after Janaazah Salaah, as Janaazah Salaah itself is a Dua.

اي صلاة يكره الدعاء بعدها؟ اقول: هي صلاة الجنازة علي رواية. قال الزاهدى في (القنية) عن ابي بكر بن حامد: الدعاء بعد الجنازة مكروه. انتهى. (فتاوى اللكنوي ص٥٠٥)

ولا يقوم الرجل بالدعاء بعد صلاة الجنازة؛ لأنه قد دعا مرة ( المحيط البرهاني في الفقه النعماني ج٢ ص٢٠٥)
