Salaatul Janaazah For A Person On Whom Ghusl Was Not Done

Question

If a revert Muslim passes and his/her family refuses to allow us to give Ghusl can Salaatul Janaazah still be performed on such a person?

Answer

There are six requisites for the validity of the Janaazah Salaah. In the absence of any of these, Janaazah Salaah will not be permitted. Amongst the six requisites is ‘Tahaarat’ of the body. If it is known (through some means) that the body (of the deceased) was Napaak then performing Salaatul Janaazah will not be permitted.
