Question
There are some watches described as are gold trim or plating. I would like to know those watches are gold trim or plated are also haram to wear?
Answer
It is impermissible for males to wear pure gold. However, gold plated watches are not pure gold, rather it is a watch manufactured from other metals that is covered with gold paint or gold liquid. The Fuqaha have not considered the gold painting to be pure gold, thus the usage of gold plated watches will be permissible.
