Performing One Fardh Salaah More Than Once

1) A person is not permitted to pray a certain Fardh Salaah more than once, after praying a certain Fardh Salaah once, he is relieved of his duties, hence leading a certain Fardh Salaah twice will not be correct and the second Jamaa’at will be deemed Nafl, for both Imam and the Muqtadees.

2) A person may join a Jamaa’at if he has already prayed that Fardh Salaah, but instead of making the intention of Fardh, he will make the intention of Nafl. This can be done for Dhuhr and Esha only. The condition here is that the Imam has the intention of Fardh Salaah, if the Imam has the intention of Nafl, then this Jamaa’at will be deemed Makrooh.
