Question
Is there qadha of sajdah tilaawat?
Answer
If Sajda-e-Tilaawat was omitted after reciting the verse of Sajda, that is, it was delayed for some reason then it should be discharged at a later stage.
If a person did not manage to discharge the Sajda-e-Tilaawat until he passed away, then if the heirs are aware of the outstanding number of Sajda-e-Tilaawat, they should discharge the Fidyah for the missed Sajda-e-Tilaawat on his behalf. If the man had made Wasiyyat to the effect that the Fidyah of his remaining Sajdas of Tilawat must be paid from my estate then it is the duty of the heirs to ensure that it is paid from one-third of the deceased’s estate.
However, if the person did not make Wasiyyat to this effect, then the discharging of the Fidyah is not Waajib upon the heirs, although encouraged.
